The actual future tense is not really used in German. The standard way to express an event in the future is using the present tense and a future time frame.

Examples:
  • Ich arbeite morgen. → I will work tomorrow.
  • Er trifft sich mit ihr am Montag. → He will meet her on Monday.

Futur I

Futur I is used when you think something will happen in the future but not the exact time that it will happen. It is used to be more formal.

Structure: subject - conjugation of werden - rest of the sentence - infinitive of verb (typical model verb structure)
